Minor Surgery - Home Care Instructions Print E-mail
Now that we have performed your minor surgery, we are very concerned with your prompt and complete recovery. In order to prevent possible complications and help you achieve the best results, we urge you to follow these instructions carefully.

Elevation

Elevating your foot above the level of your heart will limit the amount of swelling and, therefore, keep your discomfort to a minimum.

Bleeding

Following your surgery, some bleeding may show through the dressing. This is no cause for alarm.  Apply compression to the area to help stop the bleeding.

Drainage

The area will begin to drain slowly and may continue to drain over the next several weeks. The area may also become slightly red and swollen and may even appear to be infected. This is normal. If, however, you begin to experience extreme redness and swelling associated with excessive discomfort, please contact the office immediately.

Medication

As the anesthesia wears off, you may notice some discomfort. You may take over-the-counter pain medication as needed.
Please feel free to contact the office at any time should you have any questions or concerns. For your convenience, the doctor is available 24 hours a day by calling our office.

Wishing You a Speedy Recovery!!
